We live in turbulent times, characterized by high levels of uncertainty, which pose a number of additional challenges to teachers.
This course addresses the topic of leading (and mentoring) in the classroom and how to improve the communication/relationship of teacher-student through the use of innovative online tools, specific communication strategies, and accountability procedures in order to generate the conditions for a healthier learning environment in a post-pandemic context.
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Identify the main challenges of leading (and mentoring) in times of uncertainty;
- Recognize the crucial role of communication and accountability;
- Make use of innovative online tools for teaching;
- Apply different strategies for building trust and motivating students.
Sandra Samúdio Carvalho holds a degree and a master's in Social and Organizational Psychology; a Ph.D. in Democracy in the 21st Century (Sociology) with a thesis focused on the functioning of the Portuguese political parties. After a path of 20 years in academia, she became an independent researcher.
Her current research interests are urban sustainability and permaculture, healthy lifestyles, community building, education for peace, and e-learning.
She is also a yoga and meditation practitioner. In recent years she has been trained in Yogatherapy, Yoga, and Meditation for Children, and Mindfulness.
Ultimately, she wishes to help bring balance and joy to the world.
